SOCAR’S COMMUNITY TIPS DURING THE RESTRICTED MOVEMENT ORDER

April 06, 2020

With the implementation of the nationwide Restricted Movement Order (RMO) by the government to stem the outbreak of COVID-19, Malaysians are urged to stay indoors at all times unless there is an absolute need to leave their homes - to purchase essentials, travel to work for those working under the essential service and emergencies.

Under the second phase of the RMO which began on 1st April, the government had implemented the “one person per car” ruling. Now, SOCAR shares some useful community tips that Malaysians can adhere to, for the coming weeks and a promo code for those who REALLY NEED to leave their homes.

For those living with family, friends or the elderly within their vicinity, do always remember to check with them if help is needed to purchase groceries or medical supplies because a little goes a long way, especially during times like these. SOCAR also encourages users to wash their hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use a hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol content to kill the virus1 and most importantly, plan trips. Users are also urged to always clean up after themselves after using the cars by wiping the commonly touched areas. We at SOCAR, would also be doing our part to curb the spread of COVID-19 by regularly cleaning and sanitising all our vehicles. Users are urged to contact our support team via our in-app chat function SOCARE Live Chat, should they find any cars that need to be cleaned urgently. Let’s all do our part to flatten the curve!

If you are an existing user that really needs to leave your home from now till 14th April 2020, you can enjoy 50% off (cap at RM50) on your bookings to run to the nearest grocery store and purchase the essentials using SOCAR’s DRIVEAGAIN50 promo code for both normal bookings and the SOCAR-2-YOU service. Don’t worry if you are not an existing user, we have you covered too! New users would be entitled to a promo that is available under the “My Coupon” tab on the app - 50% off for all bookings (cap at RM100).2 If you are within the SOCAR-2-YOU 12 major coverage zones, you can continue to opt for the SOCAR-2-YOU service by having it delivered to your doorstep.
