A Cup Full of Fortune Treats Senior Citizens at the Curve

January 20, 2019

In the spirit of togetherness, the Curve played host to a group of senior citizens from Rumah Charis for a Chinese New Year celebration full of excitement, fun and a delicious meal.

The esteemed guests were ushered into the mall and were greeted warmly by the Curve’s Management Team. The Centre Court exuded an air of tranquility as the guests stepped foot into an oriental garden, filled with green shrubs and pink cherry blossoms. Leading up to the main attraction, the Chinese Tea House was a sight to behold, with intricate detailing’s of the main door and hanging lanterns. The old folks were content and at ease as they proceeded to take their seats and relaxed to soothing Chinese music while waiting for the show to start.

Their faces lit up with excitement once the live musical, A Grand Tea House Musical kicked off. The specially choreographed acrobatic musical featured breath-taking acrobatic acts such as professional tea pourer, face mask changer as well as a graceful ballerina. The audience was captivated by the talented ballerinas and the charming dancers who glided across the stage with elegance and allure.

At the close of the performance, the acrobatic lion dance troupe roared through the Centre Court with bold and daring stunts, amplifying the festive mood for all! Jazmi Kamarudin, Senior General Manager of the Curve, said “An important aspect of Chinese New Year is paying respect to the elderly and also giving back to the community. With this in mind, we invited the senior citizens from Rumah Charis for today’s early festive celebrations, which has been a yearly tradition for us at the Curve.

We hope that this has been an enjoyable experience for them as much as it was for us.” As the fun-filled afternoon came to an end, the senior citizens were presented with Chinese New Year goodies, before heading to lunch at Ah Tuan Ee.
