Food is part of the entire 15-day Chinese New Year celebration – a not-to-be-missed experience for family members travelling from near and far to gather with loved ones and enjoy scrumptious meals together.

Chinese New Year Recipes By Philips:-

Double-Boiled Honey Dew Soup (招财进宝)



Ingredient: 
1/4 small old chicken 
2-3 pre-soaked shiitake mushrooms 
2-3 pre-soaked dried oyster 
1 pc pre-soaked dried sea snail meat 
3 pcs pre-soaked mini abalone 
6 pcs gingko nut 
3 pcs earwood mushroom. 
1/4 skinned honey dew salt supreme soy sauce 

Method:
1. Put all the ingredients into the ceramic double boiler except salt and supreme soy sauce.
2. Fill the ceramic double boiler with water. Close the cover, wrap the ceramic double boiler with cling wrap.
3. Set the metal stand/bamboo chopstick in the pot.
4. Add a cup of water.
5. Set the ceramic double boiler in the pot.
6. Close the cover, seal the valve.
7. Select poultry mode and set timer to 45 min.
8. Once done, ready to serve.

Gluten Lion Head with Braised Shiitake Mushroom (金玉满堂)


Ingredient A : 
200gm minced chicken 
8 gluten balls 
2 cooked salted egg yolks (each cut to quarters) 
1 piping bag

Ingredient B : 
2 teaspoons oyster sauce 
2 teaspoons supreme soy sauce 
1/2 teaspoon sesame oil 
1/2 teaspoon chicken powder 
A dash of white pepper 

Ingredient C : 
8 pcs pre-soaked mushrooms 
6 pcs pre-soaked dried oysters 
fatt choy
ready-to-use sea cucumber (optional) 
pre-cooked sliced sea snail (optional) 
ready-to-use abalone (optional) 

Ingredient D : 
1/2 tablespoon chopped garlic 
1 tablespoon chopped onion 
2 tablespoons oil 
2 tablespoons oyster sauce 
2 tablespoons supreme soy sauce 
1/2 teaspoon sesame oil 
1/2 teaspoon chicken powder 
1/2 cup water 
A dash of white pepper

Method:
1. Mix items in the Ingredient B section with the minced chicken and leave it aside in the fridge for an hour.
2. Make a hole in each gluten ball.
3. Stuff in one quarter of a salted egg yolk into the gluten ball.
4. Place the minced chicken into the piping bag and pipe it into the gluten balls.
5. Select steam mode to cook the gluten balls in the Philips All-In-One Multicooker and set aside.
6. Heat up the Philips All-In-One Multicooker using the sauté mode.
7. Add oil and sauté onions and garlic.
8. Add shiitake mushrooms, sea snail and dried oysters. Add sesame oil and fry until fragrant.
9. Add the rest of the items from the Ingredient D section.
10. Close the cover and seal the valve.
11. Reset to steam mode and set timer to 25 min.
12. When the time remaining is 8 min, select the add ingredient mode to release pressure.
12. Once pressure is released, open the lid and add the sea cucumber and abalone.
13. Close the lid and the All-In-One Multicooker will continue cooking for the remaining time.
13. Once done, open the lid, select sauce thickening mode to thicken the sauce with 2 tablespoons of corn starch water.
14. Add the stuffed gluten balls to the dish before serving.

Duck Bak Kut The (喜鹊连连报佳音)



Ingredient: 
1/2 duck (cut into 2 quarters) OR 3 pcs duck breast, washed clean and pat dry 
1 pack Bak Kut Teh paste 
1 tablespoon supreme soy sauce water

Method:
1. Marinate the duck with supreme soy sauce and Bak Kut Teh paste and set aside for an hour.
2. Pour 1 cup of water into the Philips All-In-One Multicooker and place the steamer rack.
3. Place in the duck on the steamer rack.
4. Select steam mode and set timer to 10 min.
5. Once done, remove the duck from the pot and fry in the Philips Airfryer at 160˚C for 5 mins, then fry for another 3 mins at 200oC.
