Nando’s Celebrates 20 Years of PERi-PERi Perfection!

Congratulation to Nando's as you have marked the successful achievement by celebrating 20th Years of PERi-PERi Perfection. Nando's started it first outlet at Jalan Telawi, Bangsar and now Malaysia is home to 73 Nando's restaurant.  Sizzling the hearts of Malaysians with its trademark cheeky wit, out spoken humour and of course its glorious PERi-PERi sauce, the brand has not only introduced to Malaysians, really good chicken, but a host of other delectable eats that keep them coming back for more.

Do you remember your first touch with Nando's was which branch? The memory with Nando's still fresh in my mind and the fist branch I visited is Nando's at The Mines Shopping Mall on year 2002. As soon as the restaurant came to roost in Malaysia, Nando’s signature PERi-PERi has captured Malaysian attention and more people discovered just how delicious a little heat could be.

Do you know, Nando's grow it's own chilies? A little background on this:  Nando’s grows its own PERi-PERi chillies with the help of over 1,400 independent farmers in South Africa. Mixing these fiery little wonders with onions, oil, herbs, fresh lemons and a kick of garlic produces the brand’s unparalleled secret weapon, the Nando’s PERi-PERi sauce.

The reason I still prefer Nando's is they always putting flavour first and heat second. The Nando’s PERi-PERi sauce is unlike the ‘all-out-burn’ of other chilli sauces and it bring uniqueness in the chicken. The chicken are marinated in the sauce for 24-hours and then basted with ones choice of heat level ranging from Lemon & Herb to the fiery Extra Hot. That is why Nando's PERi- PERi chicken has won the heart of Malaysian.

The brand which has procured almost a cult status in Malaysia also have PERi-PERi sauces that fans can purchase for their home consumption, because sometimes, a dose of PERi-PERi is all one needs.
